Laurence Edward Alan Lee, MBE (26 June – 13 May ) was an English poet, novelist and screenwriter, who was brought up in the small village of Slad in Gloucestershire. His most notable work is the autobiographical trilogy Cider with Rosie (), As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning (), and A Moment of War (). Laurie Lee (born J, Stroud, Gloucestershire, England—died , Slad) was an English poet and prose writer best known for Cider with Rosie (), a memoir of the author’s boyhood in the Cotswold countryside.
