Victoria Mary, Lady Nicolson, CH (née Sackville-West; 9 March – 2 June ), usually known as Vita Sackville-West, was an English author and garden designer. Sackville-West was a successful novelist, poet and journalist, as well as a prolific letter writer and diarist. Vita Sackville-West (born March 9, , Knole, Kent, England—died June 2, , Sissinghurst Castle, Kent) was an English novelist and poet who wrote chiefly about the Kentish countryside, where she spent most of her life.
