Leslie Marmon Silko (born Leslie Marmon; born March 5, ) is an American writer. A woman of Laguna Pueblo descent, she is one of the key figures in the First Wave of what literary critic Kenneth Lincoln has called the Native American Renaissance. Leslie Marmon Silko is an American poet and novelist whose work often centers on the dissonance between Native and white cultures. Her best-known work is the novel Ceremony (), which is considered a seminal work of Native literature.
